Offensive Foul of the Day: Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah was caught on camera during last night’s eventual loss taking out his poor performance frustrations on a fan, Kobe Bryant-style.

Noah later issued a statement of apology, telling reporters, “I apologize. The fan said something to me that I thought was disrespectful, and I got caught up in the moment, and I said some things that I shouldn’t have said. I was frustrated and I don’t mean no disrespect to anybody. I just got caught up.”

Noah is expected to be fined by the NBA for his foul up.

I’m sorry, but I really don’t think he should have to apologize to anyone, and I definitely don’t think he should be fined.

First of all, he didn’t say it in a public interview or anything like that. He said it on the bench, to a rude ass fan, when he was pissed. Basketball players aren’t going to look around to make sure no cameras are on them before they say something “offensive” on the bench. And honestly, cameramen, why don’t you work on showing the actual game instead of pissed off players on the bench?

And second of all, this is such a one-sided story, it’s not even funny. Nobody has any idea what that fan could have been yelling at Joakim. It could have been 10x worse than what Joakim said to him, but nobody wants to bother to think about that. He was clearly provoked. He didn’t just randomly lash out. Some fans are really just assholes.

Seriously, NBA and TMZ, there are more important things to be worrying about than what basketball players say on the bench. Grow. A. Pair.

Who cares??!?!?! I don’t care about Noah calling him that, I care about the pathetic fouls that the refs were calling on the Bulls. No wonder why they lost. They weren’t getting any fouls called for them. Noah had the right to be pissed, he had 2 fouls in the 1st quarter and things weren’t going his way. Add a stupid fan into the mix, that’s the least of what he could have said.

Put the game on and let the players vent. OBVIOUSLY he didn’t mean it.

This is ridiculous.  Everyone just blurts out random stuff when they’re angry.  And yeah, he didn’t even say it in a public interview or anything- that would be a completely different story.  But you have no idea what that fan said to that guy..and what the fan said could’ve been way worse.  You never know.  But, I agree with everything Melissa said basically.  The world just needs to stop being so fucking sensitive.
